The WDBO is a global organisation dedicated to establishing design as a strategic economic asset that drives prosperity and social impact.

Our Foundational Belief

We believe that in a world increasingly shaped by trade wars and the rapid advancement of AI, a new understanding of the economics of design isn’t just relevant—it’s crucial for the survival and evolution of the creative industry.

Four Decades of Interdisciplinary Action

The WDBO is the international extension of the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS). For 40 years, DBCS experimented with being interdisciplinary at its core, fostering collaboration between designers, engineers, policymakers, and business leaders, creating a melting pot of diverse perspectives for common action.

The Global Launch

On November 25th, during the DBCS 40th anniversary gala dinner, and in partnership with global impact investment and creative change firm, Consulus, the WDBO was officially launched. This global model is built to mutually bridge Asian and Western companies that use design for economic growth at a time of great division, creating  unified voice for the value of design in global policy and markets.
